"Aren't I? I look too much like you to be anything else and we both know I'm not some long lost daughter." she held two fingers close together, letting lightning arc between them "Some clone thing with stupid spider powers." She couldn't even web swing like that Spider-Man guy she had seen on a TV one time. His powers looked like they'd be fun and her's were annoying.
"What kind of name is Red Skull?" Of all the things someone could call themselves that seemed a bit weird. "That woman that was chasing me kill him didn't she?" out of everyone she saw the dark haired woman was the only one who looked like she could actually kill someone other than Viper. Now that Viper brought it up it was like her feet had a mind of their own bringing her up here instead of finding a way out of the building. "Very odd now that you brought it up." what other memories of Vipers did they put in her head? She didn't know at least not yet.
"I have questions and he's the only one who seems to have the answers to them." The only way she could move on to some kind of life was getting whatever answers she could out of Vermis. After that she wasn't really sure what to do with herself Viper said she wasn't going to kill her. Maybe she'd let Jessica stick around HYDRA for a while until she could figure out what she actually wanted to do. She looked over at Viper while she ordered dinner sounded like a lot of food for just the two of them unless there were going to have other people joining them.

"All right, fine, you're my clone. Does that make you feel better?" Viper asked, having grown tired of playing this 'What is Jessica Drew?' game. "Spider-like powers. I don't think I have ever seen an arachnid have bioelectrical powers. We will ask Vermis about the full extent of your abilities. Don't worry, he'll talk." He'll talk and then he would disappear forever.
"He is called that because his entire head was red and skull-like, due to experimentation gone wrong," she answered pulling up a picture of the now-deceased leader on her phone. "It worked for the era which he grew up in. There are a few others that also have codenames or designations. If you desire one as well, you can have one, but it is not an obligation or a necessity." When Jessica brought up Rain, it made Viper smile. "Yes, that is Rain. She is very good at what she does. Thankfully, she is not easily motivated to kill random people, but if you say the wrong thing or try and force her to do something, she will not take it lightly." As for the girl's memories, Viper thought for a moment. "It's possible that they gave you a general knowledge of the base, possibly some fighting skills, and perhaps something else, but I doubt they instill a sense of undying loyalty towards HYDRA and unbreakable loyalty, otherwise I doubt you would have run when you did." More importantly, there did not seem to be control word or phrase for her, at least nothing that Viper had seen. Perhaps they hadn't programmed one into her yet. It would be something else to asked Vermis.
"We will question him, don't worry. I will not leave a single stone unturned until we find out what your secrets are. But, I think we can also let Vermis sit and stew just a while longer. Questioning people on an empty stomach is never a wise decision." It wasn't long after that the food arrived. Despite what Jessica heard, the amount was normal for two people, or perhaps enough for a third as Viper did not know what the girl's metabolism was like, but the variety was admirable; comprised partly of small plates and dishes, appetizers, with one or two main courses. The kitchen had done well it seemed. "Go ahead and dig in. See what you like."

"No, but now we're not pretending I'm something I'm not." she wasn't some confused child that just so happened to look like Viper she was a thing created by this Red Skull person in order to replace Viper. "I doubt this is all I can do just stuck on the highest setting unable to tone it down." Kind of pointless if all she could do is zap shit or stick to it. There had to be more to it than this.
Jessica looked at the picture of Red Skull and wasn't sorry that he had been killed, she wouldn't want to work for him and had to look at that face all the time. "Something to think on." She had no idea what she would call herself at this point her powers weren't that great and maybe it was something to keep to herself rather than letting the world know she can't do much of anything. "You seem to like her a lot." Viper didn't look like the type to smile a lot over anything so Rain must be something to get her to smile like that. She had a feeling they didn't just give her the basic layout of the base and that was it, but she did wonder what the something else could be. "So I'm an unprogrammed clone?" is that why she wasn't utterly loyal to HYDRA when she should be.
Jessica nodded "You said I could do anything I wanted, but how can I if there's no record of me anywhere? Don't I need papers or something?" She didn't have any of that stuff and she didn't know how she could get any of that stuff. But the food was good and she was hungry living on the streets you didn't get to eat everyday, there had been times when she didn't eat for a day or two. She did end up eating a lot.

"I was not pretending anything. And were I in a different frame of mind, had we met under different circumstances, we would not be having this conversation. Hell, the Red Skull could have decided on a different plan all together. Then you would not exist at all." Viper was not enjoying how she was begin treated, and she certainly wasn't about to be told what to do by a clone of herself. But at least this proved more of the case right. The way Jessica annoyed and countered her, prodding at her in her own manner, it was clear that she was a genetic copy of Viper. "As I said, we will find out all of your abilities in time. Vermis is strict about keeping notes and records, even if they are suppose to be done in secret."
Viper stopped for a moment, surprised about Jessica bringing up Rain and her smiling. "She is an excellent enforcer, a loyal ally, and, while I would not call her a friend exactly, she is a decent companion." If she was anything more, Viper either wasn't aware of it or wouldn't mention it. Either way, the prospects of getting a woman like Rain to date anyone was slim to nil. She enjoyed what she did and love would not make a difference. "Yes, an unprogramed clone. At least mostly. Why they didn't complete the entire process before bringing you here, I am not sure, but I am happy for minor miracles." That was a foreign word to the green haired woman, as she did not believe in such things, but she could not think of a more appropriate word.
She chuckled when Jessica talked about obtaining paperwork for her identity. "You act like that is a difficult thing to do. There are two things you should know Jessica; one, you are in Madripoor, where any documentation can be procured for the right price. From identities to passports to legal documents. Hell, I'm sure there is someone on this island that could probably place you in line for the throne of England. Maybe not in the top ten, but close enough. A well placed accident or two would get you the rest of the way. The second is the HYDRA influences and controls much of the world. We also, despite the occasional attempt at killing people, look after our own. Give me specifics of what you would like and, in about a week, I will have you being a legal citizen of whatever country you want to be, and not even S.H.I.E.L.D. would be able to spot the lie." While Jessica binged on dinner, Viper preferred to nibble on a few potstickers and other appetizers, her mind elsewhere as she was preparing to deal with the upcoming interrogation. "Let me know when you would like to see Vermis. We'll get our answers and then you can have some fun with the man."

"I didn't think you were the type to talk about the could have been's. You could be dead and I would be sitting here alone getting use to my new role new life or your life as it were. While Red Skull went on about whatever plans or ideas he had for me or this branch of HYDRA." There was so many what if's and could have been's that they could be talking about it for day's. "Doesn't sound like he can keep much of a secret if he's keeping notes and records of everything."
Jessica watched how Viper reacted to what she had said about her and Rain did she really believe that was all that was between them? Somewhat. From what she's learned you didn't have to be in love or dating to end up in bed together. Lowtown probably wasn't the best place to learn such things, but that's how it happened. "Or they were still programming me and whatever brought about my freedom ended it." did she know what caused her freedom? Not at all. Other than the fact that she didn't stick around to find out anything she didn't hear any voices or gunfire it was like she was just left there for whatever reason.
"Okay, but what happens when I get older and look more and more like you? I'm sure even the dumbest HYDRA agent would wonder why Viper was working at this place that I chose to go. And if they could figure it out I'm sure your enemies would." If she wanted to be whatever she wanted it'd be very hard to do with everyone that hated the real Viper watching her every move or actually mistaking her for Viper and attacking her. Having a normal life seemed very unlikely now.

"I talk about many things, Jessica. To think in absolutes is a disadvantage and often leads to downfall. Red Skull is the perfect example. He saw only his victory and my death, but he did not take Rain into account. One must be able to adapt and have plans within plans," Viper explained. An example she could think of, but would remain quiet about, was Jessica herself. Had she answered wrong or if Viper had the distinct impression that she was lying, the girl would either be dead or locked up once more and Viper would not lose any sleep. But, as of yet, that had not happened. "People have varying levels of secrets. Records and notes can be coded and hidden. Just because documentation exists, that doesn't mean the information is so easily out in the open. Espionage can be like that, my dear."
Viper considered the girl's words and could only shrug a little in response. "Perhaps that, yes. Either way, it is good that you have your own mind and will. It is not enjoyable to be in thrall of another, nor is it easy to break out of the influence." She spoke from experience, having been the servant of an elder god for a few decades. While she often had her mind to herself, Chthon never strayed too far from her and often pounded his influence into her when she least expected or wanted it.
"We'll say you're my daughter," Viper reasoned. "And in truth, that is what you are in a way, after all. That will offer you some protection, but, if you are that worried about your life being endangered, I can hide you far away from this island, give you a normal life and identity of your own and enough money so that you will never need worry about going hungry or being homeless again. The choice is up to you, Jessica." Viper was curious as to what the girl would choose.
