Did Bobbi's words calm Natasha down? A little bit, perhaps. But then again, just because she said that this Captain America knew nothing about her past, that didn't mean she knew nothing about her world's Natasha's past. They could be very similar or very different. Not that it truly mattered, but very few people, very few knew about Natasha bin handcuffed to a bed while in the Red Room. They kept the scarring to a minimum for her, as those were never appropriate for ballet dancers. They were hard to see in any light, but were you to touch her wrist in just the right manner, the difference in her skin was quite obvious. Bobbi finding out was only due to her having a very bad night and needing to return to old comforting methods.

"And if it didn't work? If it literally blew up in your face? Don't say it wouldn't have happened, Babs, because that's bullshit and you know it." Zinda had been a witness to the many times Barbara had let her hubris be her downfall. She had always told her teammates when it was too late and never before. Hell, one time she wasn't even able to tell them. Zinda had found her unconscious and on the floor. It had taken everyone a long time to get past the brainiac incident.

Yanking her arm out of Bab's grasp, Zinda quietly followed her into what had once been her hanger. The batmobile was a new thing but it was something she could have helped with, but Babs liked playing secret-keeper. "You know for a fact that it can do that or are you just assuming? It's not like you could have gone up to Kent and ask him to punch something." Zinda was just about to make up and apologize to the redhead for her behavior when the surprise for Darkseid was mentioned. "Are you insane? You're gonna fuck with him now? You hated me for what I did to lose an eye, and that was minor compared to Darkseid. And don't say you weren't, Skipper. I don't think anyone else could have taken out Ra's al Ghul like that in that short amount of time. I can't do that to Darkseid. I don't want you to get hurt or killed. I've already seen too many people I care about die and I don't want to lose you." Holding her closely in a tight hug, Zinda kissed her softly, trying not to tear up.

As for this grand idea everyone had come up with, Natasha had to agree with Bobbi; it did sound like some horrible B-rated movie. "And once you've defeated everyone, what then? Who takes control? What happens to this army of Amazonian vampires? do you defeat one tyrant just for another to take over?" It was a legitimate question for the redhead to ask. Coups and takeover may be different in the beginning, but she was not about to take part in something that would have it all end up the same in the long run.

"If Darkseid did kill you, Babs,I'd hunt him down and take him out, even if it meant me dying in the process. I just want you safe, Skipper. I don't think I could handle it very well if you were gone." Naturally, Zinda could be wrong. She was a strong woman, having gone through an incredible amount of unbelievable things, but it was always the little, unexpected incidents that toppled even the strongest of people. Like a loved ones death.

Taking Babs' hand, Zinda gently kissed the back of her knuckles and rubbed them gently. She knew they weren't hurting now, but it was the gesture and thought that counted. It also meant the she could concentrate on something as the redhead went into mild technobabble speech, something that would usually end in Zinda's eyes glazing over. "All right, that sounds good to me. Just as long as that thing is built far away and not pointed back in our direction. Sounds like Darkseid and Apokolips will be in for a world of hurt if that thing works right."

Natasha was not amused by this little bit of information. "So, you're saying that you and the rest of your bloodsucking kind will take over?" The idea was entirely plausible. With the world still recovering from the end of Superman's reign, governments trying to rebuild, and armies practically nonexistent, vampires could easily take over, filling in the power vacuum space. It all made perfect sense. Natasha and the Avengers had dealt with vampires before, coming close to being turned as well, so the Russian had no love at all for the damn things. By comparison, Baba Yaga would almost be a welcomed sight. "I don't fancy many things, nor do I buy a lot of useless objects, Lilith. As for the humans on TV? It's not that hard to imagine they have always been apart of some shadow government or organization. When you have celebrities going to the United Nations and trying to shame world leaders as they speak on subjects they know very little about, save only through acting, you have to be stupid not to realize something is up."
